DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival Nairobi
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by African Adventure Specialists’ staff and transferred to Tamarind Tree hotel for check in and remainder of the day at leisure.
Destination: Nairobi City
Accommodation: Tamarind Tree Hotel
Meal Plan: Breakfast.
Day 2: Nairobi – –Sweetwaters/ Ol Pejeta Game Sanctuary (Approx. 207KM/3h 15 min)
This morning we depart Nairobi and proceed north, driving through lush tea and coffee estates to Sweetwaters Tented Camp. Sweetwaters land, the Ol Pejeta Conservancy and its sumptuous ranch were once the private domain of famed multi-millionaire, Adnan Kashoggi.
We visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a charming haven established by the Jane Goodall Institute to provide sanctuary to orphaned chimps, and the specially protected and fenced refuge of black rhino with its stunning forty specimens! In fact Sweetwaters boasts excellent game viewing with the highest ratio of game to area of any park or reserve in Kenya.
Moreover, the camp has its own private waterhole and salt lick so we’ll be guaranteed unprecedented close encounters. Whether its day or night game drives, camel trekking, lion tracking, al fresco dining or relaxing by pool, Sweetwaters is bound to delight.

Day 3: Sweetwaters – Lake Nakuru (Approx. 185KM/3h 40 min)
After morning breakfast check out from the camp and proceed to Lake Nakuru, Nakuru (approx 4 hrs drive) where you will be booked for one night stay on full board basis. The Cliff Camp is nestled along the Hill overlooking the spectacular flamingo pink rimmed Lake Nakuru. The park is home to not just the lesser flamingo but over 400 species of birds and one of the few places to see the endangered white rhino. Other wildlife at the park includes lions, leopards, zebra, gazelles, eland, giraffe and the hyrax. Arrive at the camp in time for lunch. After lunch depart for an afternoon game drive in to the Nakuru national park where you will also be able to view the world famous flamingoes. Return back to the camp in time for dinner.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara (Approx. 300KM/6hrs)
After breakfast check out from the camp and proceed to Maasai Mara, Mara (approx 5 hrs drive) where you will be booked for two nights stay on full board basis. Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch. “The Magical Mara” is one of Kenya’s best loved reserves. It is an extension of the Serengeti ecosystem to the south. Each year, Mara is the staging ground for the “Great Migration”, one of the awe-inspiring natural events of the world. After lunch depart for an afternoon game drive where you shall have the opportunity to view the “Big Five” namely the Lion, Buffalo, Elephant, Rhino and the Leopard. The Mara is also known for the abundance of lions. Return back to the Lodge in time for dinner.

Day 5: Full Day Masai Mara Lodge Safari
After early morning tea/coffee depart for a game drive returning back to the lodge for breakfast. Spend rest of the day at leisure (you can opt for a full day game drive with packed lunch provided you have notified the hotel a day prior). After lunch depart for an afternoon game drive returning back to the lodge in time to freshen up for dinner.

Day 6: Masai Mara – Nairobi (Approx. 250KM/5hrs)
After early morning tea/coffee depart for a game drive returning back to the Lodge for breakfast. After breakfast check out from the lodge and proceed to Nairobi. Upon arrival in Nairobi transfer to the airport to board your onward flight to Entebbe Intenational Airport for Ugandan chapter of the trip.

Day 06: Arrival And Safari Briefing;
Day 07. To Kibale National Park
After an early breakfast you will drive west wards to Kibale National Park . The drive through Uganda’s rolling hills take approximately 7 hours. After Lunch in Fort portal, you head to your Lodge, in preparation for an afternoon birds walk. . |
Welcome to the Pearl of Africa. You will be met by our staff at Entebbe International Airport and head straight to your hotel.
In the Afternoon, you will drive to the nearby Bigodi village for a wetland walk to identify other primates and birds that you could have missed on your trek. Bigodi wetland walk is controlled by the community and when one participates in it, all returns will be given to the local community for development.
Day 08. Chimpanzee Tracking and to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up for a n early breakfast and head to Kibale Kational Park headquarters at Kanyancyu for briefing about the dos and don’ts while in the forest trekking chimpanzees. You and your guide plus other clients will head to the forest to look for a given community of wild but habituated chimpanzees. You will be allowed to spend one hour with chimps for photography and observation but your walk will be punctuated by lots of birds, other primates among others. The chimp trek brings you our our closest mammal cousins in their natural habitat.
After the tracking, you will head to Queen Elizabeht National Park, about 2.5 hours drive, in time for a late afternoon boat ride on the Kazinga channel. A natural fresh water Channel connecting Lake Edward and lake George. Here you will be able to see hundreds of bird species, schools of Hippos and other animals as they stroll for an evening drink.
Day 09. Game Drive Queen Elizabeth NP
Wake up for an early morning game drive to the Kasenyi Sector of Queen Elizabeth national park. This area has a concentration of animals due to her unique ecological condition that favors mating. Its along the equator line, dotted with lakes and at the base of the Ruwenzoris Mountains .
Return to the lodge for a late breakfast and check out, heading to Bwindi through the Ishasha sector of the park where you may also spot tree climbing lions. In the evening, check in at your lodge in Bwindi, as you prepare for the morning Gorilla trekking.
Day 10: Face to Face with a Gorilla
Wake up for another early breakfast, in time for a 7:00 am pre tracking briefing at the National park headquarters. After that, with other trekkers, head for to the impenetrable forest to look for the gorillas. Because of their (gorillas) mobility, the tracking can take between 1 to 8 hours. But certainly, there will be a full hour face to face with a gorilla. A moment of photography , selfie – albeit from a safe distance. The encounter and interaction with Gorilla is absolutely an amazing experience one cannot explain in one word.
Note: .Gorilla trekking can be a little bit strenuous and a certain level of fitness may be required. We also encourage our clients to take porters to give them a push or a pull during the trek.
After the thrill, return to the lodge either to relax, or a late check-out to Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda’s deepest lake, an alpine lake that is dotted with 29 islands. You stay on one of the islands.
Day 11. To Entebbe for your international flight
Set off for a 9 hours drive to Entebbe, driving through the beautifully terraced Kigezi highlands also known as ‘the Switzerland of Africa, then through Ankole , occasionally seeing the ling horned Ankole cows lazily grazing plus impalas and Zebras grazing in community land near Lake Mburo National Park Make a lunch stopover at Igongo Cultural Centre , a where the future meets the past.
After lunch, you proceed to Entebbe, with a short stopover at the Equator. This will be the second time you are crossing the equator line on the same trip. Proceed to Entebbe, Check in your hotel. Relax as you prepare for your International flight back home.

Peak Season – 1 July to 31 October, 22 December 2020 to 1 January 2021
High Season – 2 January to 31 March, 16 June to 30 Jun, 1 November to 21 December 2020.
Low Season – 1 April to 31 May 2020.
