This 13 day best of Uganda tour will give you an overview of the Pearl of Africa. Your journey will start with Murchison falls NP after a stopover at the Rhino sanctuary. Give you great opportunities trekking both chimps and gorillas, the two great apes. and also visit Kyambura, an underground natural tropical forest. You will have time for boat cruises on Victoria Nile and Kazinga channel. Visit a community school or health facility to interact with the Ugandans . You safari will end with visit of Lake Bunyonyi and Lake Mburo national park before transferring back to Entebbe international airport for your flight back home.

Day 1: Arrival for your Uganda Safari

Arrival at Entebbe International Airport.  Our team receives  you for a pick you up and transfer you to your hotel, for relaxing and trip briefing.

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

 

Have breakfast, your driver guide will pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to Murchison Falls national park –the largest national park in Uganda.

You will have a stopover at Ziwa rhino sanctuary to track rhinos. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a former ranch is the only place to trek wild rhinos in Uganda. You will spend one hour with the rhinos after allocating them with the help of your ranger guide. After this you continue with your journey to the park arriving at your lodge later that afternoon.

Day 3: Game Drive and Boat ride

After your breakfast you will go on a game drive on the northern bank of River Nile. Enjoy sighting of different animals as they live in the wild, feeding, resting etc. Enjoy the landscape of this park for perfect photo shots.  Look out for Bush bucks, water bucks, buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, lions, hartebeest, leopards, Uganda kobs and different bird species.

In the afternoon you will go for a relaxing boat ride. The Nile boat safari offers you great relaxation as you sight more animals in water, beautiful scenery, and various bird species. The animals to look out for include hippos, crocodiles, monitor lizards, and also buffaloes, elephants and antelopes that come to water. You will get off the boat and hike to experience the “top of the falls” where the river Nile is forced through a 7-meter gorge with a thunderous fall. The view from the top of the falls is breathtaking.

Day 4: Transfer to Hoima – Bunyoro Kingdom 

Bunyoro is one of the oldest monarchies in East Africa. Today you shall transfer from Murchison falls park to Hoima town for different activities in this town. The highlight will be a visit to the Palace, Royal tombs and market. Thereafter you will retire to your lodge.

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale Forest – Primate Capital of the World!

Today you arise early morning in preparation for the journey to Kibale forest – the primate capital of the world with 13 species of primates calling it home. You will have short stopovers for stretching. You will have lunch in Fort portal after which you continue to your lodge.

Journey time: 6 hours

Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Wetland.

Chimpanzees live in several areas in Uganda but Kibale forest is the best place to see them. After breakfast, the driver guide will transfer you to the briefing area to hear about the expectations as you are in the forest. After briefing from the ranger guides, you will start your trek into the forest until you locate them. You are allowed 1 hour with the Chimpanzees after locating them.

In the afternoon visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary – a community initiative toward conservation of Kibale forest. The wetland is home to an abundance of life from butterflies, plants, animals and spectacular birds like Great Blue Turaco.

Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today after breakfast, our tour continues to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a wildlife experience in the plains of Kasenyi. The drive will take us through views of several crater lakes and the mystical Rwenzori Mountain ranges en route later arriving at the lodge.

Afternoon – Village walk

Journey time: 2 hours

Day 8: Game drive and boat Safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Today we arise early morning for a game drive. The animals in their different families, clans, and groups are out starting on their day. The game drive happens in Kasenyi plains in the custom made safari cars for game viewing. Look out for Lions, Elephants, Buffaloes, Kobs, Water bucks etc all this in between the Ruwenzori Mountains and the Rift valley escarpment.

In the afternoon the safari will continue on a boat cruise on Kazinga channel which is a stretch of water connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. The boat safari offers you great photography sessions in a relaxed way with lots of bird life on the shores, crocodiles, elephants, etc

Day 9: Transfer to Ishasha and Bwindi I NP

Transfer to Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth national park for tree climbing lions and community interaction.

After breakfast, you prepare to leave for Ishasha sector in the south of Queen Elizabeth, famed for the tree-climbing lion. The lions in this area love to spend days in the acacia trees especially in the mid morning and afternoons. On arrival, you shall proceed to the lodge for check -in after which you will go for an afternoon/evening game drive.

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park

Today we start journey to the home of the gentle giants of Bwindi impenetrable forest. This fulfilling journey takes us through the Kigezi highlands with great scenery of terraced hills and views of the impenetrable forest.

Day 10 :  Face to Face With A Gorilla

For most people, the highlight of this safari is meeting the gentle giants of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park! Enjoy the fullness of the impenetrable forest abounding with life, host to several species of birds, butterflies, primates, mammals. Your driver guide will transfer you to briefing area where you will be allocated a gorilla family. You will receive briefing from your ranger guide after which you start the trek. Eventually with help of your guide who is also a park ranger, you will find yourself face to face with the enormous and rare mountain gorillas. You only have one hour with gorillas to capture your finest moments before starting the trek back to meat your driver guide.

Day 12: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Lake Bunyonyi is tucked away in southwestern Uganda surrounded with terraced hills with 29 small islands with some developed for tourism and others not. The drive to Lake Bunyonyi is rewarding with great scenery. On arrival, you will immediately check in to your lodge and relax waiting for an afternoon village walk/hike.

In the afternoon, take on a village visit joining the locals in the market.

Day 13:  Lake Bunyonyi Islands Tour

Spend the morning exploring some of the Islands of lake Bunyonyi learning from the local guide the stories connected to each of them. Lunch will be at one of the Islands. Spend the afternoon at leisure at your lodge or take a walk in the surrounding area.

Day 14: To Kampala / Entebbe International Airport.

After an early breakfast you will go for a morning game drive in search of Impala, Buffaloes, Giraffes, Topi, and the largest herds of Zebras in Uganda. Enjoy the varying scenery in the national park after which you proceed to Entebbe for your night flight back home with a stopover for lunch at the Equator.

And procwwd to your hotel in kampala or to entebbe International Airport for your international flight.
