This marvelous trip will give you the best of East Africa , through the signature attractions ranging from the Source of the Nile, the Chimpanzees, birds, alpine lake, impenetrable tropical forests  and face to face with the indigenous mountain gorilla in Uganda, then the zebra and wildebeest immigrations and big 5 in Tanzania, and finally, relaxing at the beaches of Zanzibar.

DAY 1. Arrival at Entebbe International and our staff pick and  drop to your hotel.

DAY 2 : Drive from Kampala to Kibaale Forest National Park

Take an early breakfast and set off for Kibale Forest national park, a stunning and beautiful tropical forest in western Uganda approximately 6-7hrs from Kampala. Kibaale forest is renowned for the highest density and diversity of primate species numbering to around 13 notably, the Chimpanzees, Red-colobus, Blue, Red-tailed and Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Black and white colobus monkey, I’hoesti monkey. Evening, visit the Bigodi wetland, a birds sanctuary plus a walk around the Magombe swamp, which will provide you with the wide range and the variety of special Fauna and flora.

DAY 3: Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrate forest N P

After breakfast, you will be driven to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu for a pre-trekking briefing by the Wildlife Authorities staff. The thrilling tracking the chimpanzees takes, between 1-5hrs activity depending of the availability of the apes. Chimpanzees live in extended communities of up to 100 individuals, not in families like gorillas and other primates. They are also noisy, so you are likely to hear them long before you see them. On the track, you are also likely to see the rare Red-colobus monkey and Rare I’hoesti monkey, Blue, Red-tailed and Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Black and white colobus monkey and the Bush babies. After the thrill, return back to the hotel for lunch and set off for  Bwindi Impenetrable forest  through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national Park. Have a brief stopover at the equator line- Kikorongo and continue on a lazy drive to the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National park.

DAY 4: Gorilla Trekking (face to face with a gorilla)

Now, this is the D-day. Wake up for an early breakfast and head to the park headquarters for the detailed briefing about how to track that takes you face to face with a Gorillas. Since the trek is in the impenetrable mountain forest, you must be physically fit to undertake this near adventure activity that climaxes at complete hour face to face with a gorilla family, among other primates. The 1hr to about 8 hrs day trek will be under the guidance of highly skilled game rangers through the forest in bid to see the great apes. On your way through the thick forest, you are likely to see other primates like the red tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, baboons and some birds, notably, the Ruwenzori Turacco, African green broad-bill, White-tailed blue flycatcher, Brown necked parrot and White-bellied Robin, woodpeckers and sunbirds among others. Wow, it is done, Return to your the lodge and proceed to Lake Bunyonyi for overnight. Night at Bunyonyi Safari Lodge (luxury), Bunyonyi Eco Resort (midrange), Byona Amagara (Budget).

DAY 5: Travel Back to Kampala

After breakfast drive back to Kampala through the Kanaba gap and ankole while encountering the famous Ankole Long honed cows,  having a stopover Igongo Cultural Centre and Country Hotel Lunch and brief tour of Uganda’s largest private museum, purchase a curio and take pictures , then at the Equator and back to your Hotel in Kampala or Airport.

DAY 6:  Fly to Kilimanjaro Airport Tanzania   from Entebbe International Airport, Tanzania  Night in Arusha;

 

Day 7 & 8: Game drive in Ngorongoro crater

 

After breakfast we drive to Ngorongoro (195 Km) and descend into the crater for an in-depth exploration of this distinctive Eco-system. Enjoy abundant wildlife viewing set against the impressive backdrop of the Ngorongoro Crater, the heart of the conservation area. It’s one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles; its magical setting and abundant wildlife never fail to enthrall visitors. For lunch, enjoy a picnic next to one of the hippo pools on the crater floor. Afterwards continue with the game drive throughout the various ecosystems of the crater, including woodland filled with zebra and baboon, plains that support scavenging hyena and a lake that is tinted pink with greater and lesser flamingos. Other game that you can see includes the endangered black Rhino, leopard, cheetah, hyena, other members of the antelope family, and small mammals. After the tour drive back to the lodge for overnight rest.

Day 9: Drive to Arusha – Fly to Zanzibar (Stonetown tour)

 

You leave the Ngorongoro Area for Arusha (Approx 195 Kms). Proceed to the airport for your evening flight to Zanzibar. Arrive Zanzibar and enjoy a stone tour before going to your beach hotel. Places of interest: The earlier slave market, slave chambers, fruit- and vegetable market, the earlier German Consulate, African house (earlier British Club, the house of slave trader Tippu-Tip, The house of wonders, The Forodhani park, The palace of the Sultan, The fort, Livingstone’s house and of course Stone Towns funny, narrow streets, several of them with exiting and fascinating architecture inspired by African and Indian culture.

Day 10 : Spice tour & Prison Island tour

The classic spice tour of Zanzibar. You can taste and smell pepper, vanilla, nutmeg, clove, cardamom and many other spices. You can see how they grow and looks before they are put in plastic bags and sold in the shop. You will also see and taste different tropical fruits, and see and learn about tropical trees, for example the lip gloss tree and ylang-ylang. The trip passes Kibweni palace and Kidichi to see the Persian baths built by the first Sultan of Zanzibar in 1850. Thereafter you will visit a local spice plantation where you also can taste different spices and also buy them. In the end we visit the government spice plantation to see more special plants.

 

Visit the Prison Island. At this island you can see the protected giant land tortoise that are more than 100 years old. You can also feed them. The island is nice for bathing and snorkeling. The Island was bought by General Mathew who built a prison here in 1893, but it was never used.

Day 11:  Free days relaxing/ exploring the sunny beaches:

 

Enjoy free time to relax on the beaches and swim, snorkel or dive in the clear, warm waters. A cocktail and a golden sunset go hand in hand, so be sure to indulge as the sun melts away and day turns to night. In the evening, wander the beaches and the white sands of Zanzibar. Beach volley ball, table tennis and other games are some of the activities to you can indulge in you resort during the days and nights.

Day 12:  Free day – Departure:

 

You can choose the program of today in respect to your flight time. You may opt to relax in the resort or short activities like playing volley ball, kayaking. Later in the afternoon or evening you will be brought to the airport for your flight to the mainland in time for your connecting flight home.
