Trip in Detail Details.

Day 1: Arrive in Uganda, the Pearl Of Africa

Welcome to Uganda, the pearl Of Africa. Your trip manager from Gorilland TravelCare Uganda will meet, greet and connect you to your hotel for a briefing and night relax after your long flight.   Meal plan:  Half Board:

Day 2: Drive from Kampala to Kibale Forest National Park

Take an early breakfast and set off for Kibale Forest national park, a stunning and beautiful tropical forest in western Uganda approximately 6-7hrs from Kampala. Kibale forest is renowned for the highest density and diversity of primate species numbering to around 13 notably, the Chimpanzees, Red-colobus, Blue, Red-tailed and Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Black and white colobus monkey, I’hoesti monkey.

Evening, visit the Bigodi wetland, a bird’s sanctuary plus a walk around the Magombe swamp, which will provide you with the wide range and the variety of special Fauna and flora.

Accommodation:   Chimbanzee Nest Lodge or Cimpindu Lodge on a full board basis.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park  Ishasha

After breakfast, you will be driven to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu for a pre-trekking briefing by the Wildlife Authorities staff. The thrilling tracking the chimpanzees takes between    1-5hrs activity depending of the availability of the apes. Chimpanzees live in extended communities of up to 100 individuals, not in families like gorillas and other primates. They are also noisy, so you are likely to hear them long before you see them. But the encounter is very fulfilling.

After this experience, return to your lodge for a late checkout, and head to Queen Elizabeth NP, check in your Lodge around the Equator, refresh  and have your lunch.

In the late afternoon, set off for a boat-ride on the Kazinga Chanel, a 35kms natural fresh water channel connecting the lake George to lake Edward, believed to have the world’s highest concentration of Hippos, also a haven for African Elephants, buffalos and several savannah animals and over 350 species of birds.

The Boat-ride can also usher in a beautiful sundowner, as the sun shies away into the hilly horizons of the eastern DR Congo.

Accommodation:  Kikorongo Safari lodge / Elephant Plains / Mwenyenyange Caves lodge on Full Board.

Day 4: Depart Ishasha sector to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After a lazy breakfast, set off to Bwindi, through the Ishasha sector, of Queen Elizabeth national park,  in such for the tree climbing lions, birds and other animals. After lunch take a 3-4 hours drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, the home of the Mountain gorillas (gorilla gorilla berengei). The impenetrable forest Bwindi is also habitat to other animals like the bush buck, antelopes, forest duiker and so much of the bird species like Ruwenzori Turacco, African green broad-bill, white-tailed blue flycatcher, brown-necked parrot, white-bellied robin chat and Frazer’s eagle owl. it is most famous for the Mountain Gorillas. You will reach the park late in the evening.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking (face to face with a gorilla)

Now, this is the d-day. Wake up for an early breakfast and head to the park headquarters for the detailed briefing about how to track that takes you face to face with a Gorillas. Since the trek is in the impenetrable mountain forest, you must be physically fit to undertake this near adventure activity that climaxes at complete hour face to face with a gorilla family, among other primates. The 1hr to a whole day trek will be under the guidance of highly skilled game rangers through the forest in bid to see the great apes. On your way through the thick forest, you are likely to see other primates like the red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, baboons and some birds, notably, the Ruwenzori Turacco, African green broad-bill, White-tailed blue flycatcher, Brown necked parrot and White-bellied Robin, woodpeckers and sunbirds among others. Wow, it is done, Return to the lodge for a late check-out and head to lake Bunyonyi

Day 6: Travel Back to Kampala

After breakfast, set off from this wonderful part of Uganda, and drive back to Kampala, having a stopover Igongo Cultural Centre and Country Hotel Lunch and brief tour of Uganda’s largest private museum, purchase a curio and take pictures, then at the Equator and back to your Hotel in Kampala or Airport.

Day:7 Flight To Zanzibar  – Tanzania  / Ocean Beach

Take a connecting flight to the East African  semi-autonomous  island state of Zanzibar, a tourist paradise and start your 3 days beach stay. Accommodation:Neptune Hotels / BlueBay /  Miramont

 

Day 8-10:  Zanzibar Beach  

You have a choice of just relaxing at the Indian Ocean beach, sip your sun-riser mocktail and or a sundowner cocktail as you watch the sun rise and set at the blue ocean waters. Or, you indulge yourself into several available water sports (at an extra cost) as you enjoy the very best of Africa.

Some chain beach lodges offer an option of facility discoveries – where you may transfer from one unit to other just to breach the boredom, at no cost.  Accommodation:  Neptune  or the Sultan  , or BLUE BAY

Day 11: Flight to Entebbe and International flight back home.

After a normal heavy African breakfast, take your flight back to Entebbe international Airport and wait for your international flight back home.  Or, you can stay another night at an extra cost.
